Design Narrative

Quirky conditions present from renovations by previous homeowners created unique conditions as a recurring theme in this home. The original space exhibited a thickened archway with homemade doors that originally served as the exterior wall between the garage and the interior, a mysterious safe was found in the floor cavity, and rhythmic glass block along one exterior wall presented an additional challenge for locating plumbing fixtures.

After exploring a few different configurations and ways of accessing the space, it was decided that we would be conservative with demolition and divide the existing flex space into a bathroom/closet and add new entry points connecting all spaces. The final touches included a hunt for hexagonal blue tile, coordinating plumbing pipes to be hidden underneath a furniture style vanity and ensuring seamless flooring transitions between the spaces. The resulting space is fresh and functional for that true dream home feel.
